![]() So February... My daughter Rowan's birthday is tomorrow and she is reminding us every couple of hours how many days there are to go. She's so excited to be seven. I'm looking forward to it, because maybe afterwards, when her excitement level drops, she'll stop waking up even earlier than normal! Oh I'm looking forward to my children being teenagers and having to tip them out of bed instead of them ambushing me at the crack of (pre) dawn! I imagine the novelty will wear off pretty quickly though. Another female force of nature, Storm Ciara has taken a break now, apparently its Storm Dennis going to arrive in a couple of days, there are several strategically placed buckets and I'm keeping my fingers crossed the porch roof doesn't blow off. I hope it hasn't affected any of you too badly. Scary stuff. The wind has woken me up a few times, which probably hasn't helped the lack of desire to get out of bed! I was always an early bird, right the way through school and university if I had work to do I was much better getting up early to do it than staying up late. But getting out of bed has become harder since having children, maybe being halfway to 70 (thanks son for that phrasing!) isn't helping either. ![]() At the moment I'm working on a collection made with a gorgeous set of yarn from Felt Fusion (photo above), and some work to send to The Whispering Wild for her new studio, do go and check out Lucy's magical whimsical work, it really is stunning. I'm also making progress on my own 60cm doily hoop pattern. It’s something I've been working on here and there for ages, but I might finally be getting somewhere... if you want to be the first to know more sign up for my newsletter.

![]() Hello and welcome to the first Pineapple Talk post! My name is Emma, I am the person behind Pineapple Fibre Art; I am the designer and maker, the finance officer, the marketing consultant, the office administrator and the tea provider! I am also a mother of two; my son Alwyn is 9 in March and my daughter Rowan will be 7 in a few weeks. We also have a dog called Tim (and yes he's tiny!) and a tortoise called Edith. I live with this loud lot and my husband Dane, an eye nurse, in sunny (ha) South Devon, within 5 miles of the sea and 5 miles of Dartmoor. I love pretty things, textiles, ceramics, crochet and jewellery and am so fortunate to have come across so many awesome makers doing my Pineapple thing, I'll be sharing my favourite finds here. I am also learning about interiors, about how to style and photograph my hoops to let them sing and help you guys to invisige them in your homes. ![]() So, there will be pictures, links to other makers and designers, pictures of the dog and the beautiful places I walk with him. Expect hoops, yarn and work-in-progress shots in the reality of a smallish family home, rather than just the finished shots seen in Instagram squares. Short and sweet today, but now I am not staring at the blank page with a mixture of guilt and writers block, I'll be back soon! |
AuthorI crochet therefore I am. I also like to bake and eat cake, play boardgames, watch rugby, and my children are getting old enough to let me, and sometimes even join in! ArchivesCategories |
