FAQ
If you have a question that isn't answered here, please ask me!
Are Pineapple Fibre Art crochet kits beginner friendly?
I am of the strong belief that if you want to learn a new skill like crochet, chose a project that you are really excited about and want to finish; there is only so much practicing of basic stitches you can do! Pineapple 101 is specifically aimed at beginners, but with video tutorials of new stitches to help you, pick the kit that you most want to make, check the included stitches, available in all listings, and go from there. But honestly, once you can do a treble crochet, most stitches are a variant on that.
What is included in a crochet mandala kit?
Inside a Pineapple Fibre Art crochet kit you will find the printed pattern, the wooden hoop, the gorgeous hand dyed yarns, a ribbon to hang your finished hoop up with, and anything else you might need to make your hoop, for example, beads, the swing seat for Summer Swing, the wings for insects. You will need to have a crochet hook or two, scissors, a needle to sew in the ends and maybe pins. I do sell various haberdashery items if you need them.
What sort of yarn is in the crochet kits?
Pineapple Fibre Art crochet kits are stocked with hand dyed yarns from a variety of UK based dyers. The yarns are either a merino/nylon blend (your standard sock yarn) or Blue Faced Leicester, apart from the Mistletoe and Holly kits which have a yak blend (my fav!) and the fern and insects which have a silk blend. They are all soft and lovely to work with, because that is super important to me. The gold thread in the Bauble kits is less nice to work with I'm afraid, but does supply to wonderful sparkle!
